Addie Jackson was born at 7:30 AM on Sunday morning, April 24, 1927 in Shreveport, Louisiana (Caddo Parish) to the loving union of Will and Bertha Green. Addie was the youngest of her 2 sisters, Willie V. and Lilian.

In 1942, Addie married Lorenzo Davis, Sr. and 3 children were born to this union, Mary Lee, Addie Lee, and Lorenzo James. Later, in 1957, Addie married Willie T. Jackson (W.T.) and to this union, 2 daughters were born, Catherine and Delores. The family relocated to Houston, Texas in 1964. While married to W.T., Addie was a deaconess at Missionary Baptist Church. She worked inside the home as a doting wife and loving mother. After W.T. lost his battle to cancer in 1966, Addie started working outside the home as a housekeeper. She worked hard and was proud of her ability to care for her family alone. She worked diligently to instill the values of faith, education, cleanliness, hard work, and honesty to her family. Addie was passionate about being a good mother and ultimately became the strong matriarch of her family’s five generations.

One of her favorite pastimes was listening to music on the radio. She mostly kept to herself and had a small circle of friends. She would always let you know what was on her mind and made sure you always knew, she was in charge. She lived a simple life filled with deep love and immense generosity. She was called home on Thursday, June 18, 2020 at 5:05 PM.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Will and Bertha Green; sister, Lilian Randall; husband, Willie T. Jackson; sister, Willie V. Smith; daughter, Addie Lee Davis; granddaughter, Lorkeisha “Honey” Davis.

She is survived by her family legacy; her 4 children, Mary Armstead (Lonnie), Lorenzo (Gwendolyn), Catherine White, and Delores Palmer(Thomas), 1 niece; 1 nephew; and a host of grand-children; great, grand-children, great(2x) grand-children, great(3x) grand-children, great(4x) grand-children, and great(5x) grand-children, totally five blessed generations.
