

Adelina grew up in San Luis Potosi Mexico with her parents and seven brothers and sisters. She graduated from high school with a degree in Finance. At the age of 19, upon moving to the United States from Mexico, Adelina met her future husband Ernesto Salazar, and they married on March 27th, 1987. Ernesto was a nationally recognized Mariachi player who performed for the Clinton administration at the White House. Adelina enjoyed time traveling with Ernest as he performed all over the southwest. Ernest died in October of 2000.
Adelina was a proud American and quickly mastered English. She became a Naturalized United States Citizen on April 11th, 1996.
While Adelina did not have children of her own, she loved and cared for many during her lengthy career in Houston as a nanny. She was caregiver and companion for life to Kyle Morgan. She made each day an adventure with visits to museums, parks, journeys on metro and eating doughnuts on the way home. She taught Kyle how to speak Spanish and appreciate the Latin culture. She also taught him the value of money and required him to pick up ever penny he saw and put it in his pocket for a rainy day. During this time, Adelina met many lifetime friends including Neida, Liliana, Maria, Patches and Julio.
In Adelina’s later years, she had a long-term loving relationship with Martin Rivas DeLeon, who enjoyed entertaining their friends and serving world class Tex Mex barbecue.
Along with Martin Rivas DeLeon, Adelina leaves behind her siblings, Luis Perez Jimenez of Mexico, Santos Perez Jimenez of Houston, Francisco Javier Perez Jimenez of Mexico, and Juanita Victoria Perez of Houston. She also leaves behind Lori and Boyd Morgan of Houston, who are eternally grateful for her love and dedication to their son Kyle.
Adelina was predeceased by her parents, Donato Perez Rico and Victoria Jimenez Turrubiates. Brothers, Fernando Perez Jimenez, Alejandro Perez Jimenez and Gerardo Perez Jimenez.
Adelina’s graveside service will be held at 11:30am on Thursday, August 1st at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery at 13102 North Freeway, Houston, TX 77060.
