Adelita G. Villanueva, 81, of Houston, TX, passed away on January 17, 2025. She was born in Corpus Christi, TX on January 23, 1943, to parents Ismael Gonzales, Sr. and Teresa Leija. She met Julian Villanueva in Corpus Christi, TX and married on November 10, 1958. Adela was a homemaker and had a passion for sewing, cooking, listening to music, dancing, gardening, playing bingo and shopping at Walmart (her favorite).
She was preceded in death by her husband, Julian S. Villanueva, Sr., two sons, Julian Villanueva, Jr. and Justino Villanueva, one grandson, Joshua Gregory Villanueva and four brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by five children, Esmeralda Munoz, Emilia Adame, Imelda Viduarri (Enrique), Joseph Villanueva, and Carmen Sanchez (Juan). Twelve grandchildren, Julian III, Veronica, Elizabeth, Justino, Rosanna, Linda, Imelda, John Paul, Danielle, Juan Jr., Driscilla, and Daniel. Thirty great-grandchildren, seven great-great grandchildren, one brother and three sisters.
A visitation for Adela will be held Friday, February 14, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039, followed by a celebration of life memorial service at 6:30 PM.
