Albert Lee Burns , 83, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend passed away April 30, 2012 after a short illness. Born 1928 in Soper, Oklahoma he came to Houston at the age of sixteen. He lived most of his life in Houston before moving to Dayton, TX. Surviving is his son, Jimmie L. Burns, and daughter-in-law Patricia, of Baton Rouge, LA; four grandchildren: Darrell Burns of Jefferson, GA; Deborah Burns Young of Baton Rouge, LA; Jodi Burns of Austin, TX and Sheila Burns Slusher of Crosby, TX and five great grandchildren: Jesse Burns, Cole Burns, Elizabeth Slusher, Kaitlin Slusher, Chance Young. He was preceded in death by his devoted and loving wife Bertha V. Cassell Burns and two sons, Darrell Wayne Burns and Joseph Carl Burns. He was a successful businessman who owned and operated an electrical service company and several auto salvage businesses. His great pastime was auto racing and he sponsored several race cars at race tracks in and around Houston. He will be remembered by many for his love of life, generosity, and great story telling ability.
