He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business in 1956. It was here that he met Joan, his wife of 59 years. Together they had three children. He was a successful entrepreneur in Boston during the 1960's and 70's and owned a restaurant, three nightclubs, as well as several thoroughbred race horses. In 1973 he and his family moved to Spring where he took a position as Regional Manager for Graham Magnetics/Carlisle Corporation.
Al had an amazing and quick sense of humor that never faltered. He loved to travel, Las Vegas being one of his choice destinations. He enjoyed all sports events, but football was his all-time favorite. He had a passion for competing with his son, Wes, and friends in a long-standing fantasy football league. Al was so respected that the league trophy was named the "Al G. Rader" trophy in his honor.
