Albin E. Pekar, 87, of Houston, Texas, passed away July 1, 2019. He was born in Sweet Home, Texas on December 7, 1931. He is preceded in death by his wife Doris, his son James, brothers Felix, Jerome, Victor, and Julius; and sisters, Georgia and Dorothy.
Albin worked for Maxwell House. He was a member of The American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign War and had served in the Navy during the Korean War on the USS Vesurias A-15.
He is survived by his children Darlene Appelt and husband Michael, and Ronald Pekar; grandchildren Steven Pekar, Tori Williams and husband Dan; great-grandchild Bethany Williams; and sisters Elizabeth, Helen, Marie, and Betty. Through Doris Pekar, grandchildren Connie Fowler and Stephanie Fitzgerald; great-grandchildren, Jerrie Vallade, Desiree Vallade, Rachel Fowler, Samantha Cook, and Josh Fitzgerald. Al was loved by numerous nieces and nephews. He had many wonderful friends and a great caring family. His smiling face will be missed by all.
The Graveside Service will be held on Monday, July 8th. at 10:30 a.m., at Brookside Memorial Park, 13401 Eastex Fwy, Houston, TX 77039.
