Sus dichos favoritos nunca faltaban para alegrar cualquier momento…”Aun Ay Mas”...”Happy Day Every Day” (Feliz Dia, Todos los Dias)...”Don’t Worry About It” (No Te Preocupes Por Eso).

It is with deep sadness and love that we announce the peaceful passing of Alfonso A. Lima, who went to his heavenly home on Friday, May 29, 2026, at the age of 83, surrounded by the love and beautiful prayers of his family.
He was born on February 17, 1943, in Panotla, Tlaxcala, Mexico. His upbringing in Mexico during his youth shaped his character, instilling in him a profound sense of nobility and dedication to work. In 1971, Alfonso moved to the United States to build a life for himself, and he spent the greater part of his life living in Houston, Texas. He was a strong man in every sense of the word. He dedicated himself to providing for his family and giving them the life he felt they deserved. He worked diligently and retired from Mrs. Baird's Bakery after 28 years of service. Even after his retirement, Alfonso continued to work because he enjoyed staying active and keeping busy.
Alfonso was a man of strong faith. He loved attending church every Sunday alongside his wife and quietly spending time reading his Bible in his backyard. He got along well with everyone, wherever he went, and was always ready to lend a helping hand without expecting anything in return. With patience and grace, he instilled in his children and grandchildren—and served as a living example to them—the importance of mutual respect and good manners.
Anyone who knew Alfonso knew him as the most joyful father, husband, and grandfather—someone who loved to uplift and encourage everyone around him. He delighted in conversing with his wife, children, grandchildren, siblings, and his entire extended family. Throughout his life, he distinguished himself by the way he approached each day: with faith, positivity, and a beautiful, beaming smile that stretched from ear to ear. Aside from reading the Bible, he enjoyed reading about cultural history from all corners of the globe. His diverse interests were also reflected in the music he listened to—José Alfredo Jiménez, The Beatles, Mariachi, Rock & Roll, Banda, Symphonic music, and Classical music, to name just a few. And if an opportunity to sing arose—as everyone knows—he seized it!
His favorite sayings were never missing to brighten any moment: “Aún Hay Más”... “Happy Day Every Day”... “Don’t Worry About It.”
He is lovingly survived by his wife of 51 years, Adelita Lima; his children, Sergio Alberto Zavala, Monica Lima (Marlon) Sanchez, and Alfonso Lima III; his grandchildren, Mireya, Eugenio, Jocelyn, and Diego; and his sisters, Briseida and Elsa.
He was preceded in death by his father, Alfonso Lima Jimenez; his mother, Adelia Atonal Carro; and his siblings, Aaron, Hector, Gilberto, Marcos, and Graciela.
The family deeply appreciates the expressions of love and support during this very difficult time.
