

Alfred Fermin Loper of Cypress Texas passed away on May 15, 2023 at the age of 89. He was born on September 25, 1933 in Carrizozo New Mexico where he grew up with his grandmother and brother, Ignacio “Nacho” Lopez. Alfred graduated from the University of New Mexico with a Science Degree in Geophysics. While traveling to Argentina for work, he met his wife Magdalena Healy and soon married. Alfred and Magda had three children; Annette Munoz, Barbara Kriesel and Danny Loper. Alfred had 10 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren. After Alfred retired, he loved to travel to Mexico and kept busy doing his family genealogy. His children and grandchildren were able to spend time with him before he left the earth to be with his wife, son and parents. Alfred was preceded in death by his mother Rosa, father Alfredo Lopez Sr., his wife Magdalena and son Danny Loper. He is survived by his daughters Annette (Husband – Matt Munoz), Barbara (Husband – Donald Kriesel) and Ten Grandchildren (John, Jeffrey, Andrew, David, Lauren, Mark and Haley Munoz), Sean Kriesel (Wife - Kandace), Ashley Kriesel (Marcelino Peregrino), Richard Loper (Julia – Mother) and two great grandchildren (Sebastian Peregrino, Coleman Kriesel). The family would like to thank his personal caregivers at Saint Joan Marie Personal Home Care in Cypress Texas for the care and compassion they showed Alfred in his final days. The family will lay Dad to rest in a private ceremony at Forest Park Funeral Home in Houston, Texas. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org.
