

Mrs. Alice Katherine Warfield Holiday was born on July 1, 1943, in Crockett, Texas, to the proud parents, Roosevelt Warfield and Ruth Anna McClain Warfield. She was the third oldest of eight children born into a loving family whose roots were deeply established in East Texas. Her father was a native of Crockett, Texas, and her mother hailed from Grapeland, Texas. Alice spent her formative years in Crockett, where she attended school and developed the values of faith, hard work, and perseverance that would guide her throughout her life.
Raised in a Christian home, Alice was nurtured in the teachings of the Lord by her devoted mother, Ruth Anna. At the age of thirteen, she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and began a lifelong journey of faith. The spiritual foundation she received as a child remained an important part of her life and character.
As a young woman, Alice relocated to Houston, Texas, where she established a life centered around family, service, and determination. She became the proud mother of five children; four daughters and one son, whom she loved dearly and worked tirelessly to provide for and nurture. Alice was known as a strong, dedicated, and resilient mother who understood the sacrifices necessary to ensure the well-being of her children.
Professionally, Alice built a distinguished career marked by diligence and excellence. She worked as a licensed beautician and later served for many years as a Medical Records Supervisor at both Riverside General Hospital and The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. Through her work, she touched countless lives and earned the respect of colleagues and friends alike for her commitment, professionalism, and compassionate spirit.
During her years in Houston, Alice was united in Holy Matrimony to Haywood Holiday and later to John Pogue. Throughout her life she valued family relationships, cherished friendships, and found joy in the accomplishments and growth of those she loved.
Mrs. Holiday was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Roosevelt and Ruth Anna Warfield; her sister, Hattie Wilson; her brothers, Larry Warfield and Harriot Warfield; and her grandson, Shawn K. Warfield, Jr.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories her loving children: Kimberly Warfield, Tirna Warfield, Katrina White (Andrew), Shawn Warfield, Sr. (Tahlai), and Mioka Warfield. She is also survived by her sisters: Velma Ruth Warfield Robinson, Mary Warfield Jones (Fletcher), Linder Warfield Woodard, and Minnie Warfield Golden (Billie).
Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Annameshia Willis (Henry), Destini Warfield, Chante Warfield, Darrion Warfield, Jeffrey Brown, Justy’C Brown, Jamarian Warfield, Shaniya Warfield, and Kieran Thibodeaux, along with a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren who brought tremendous joy to her life.
Alice Katherine Warfield Holiday leaves behind a legacy of faith, strength, perseverance, and unconditional love. Her life was a testimony of dedication to family, commitment to her work, and a determination to overcome life’s challenges with grace and dignity. Though her earthly journey has ended, her influence, wisdom, and loving spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

A visitation will be held at Yale Street Baptist Church, 4315 Yale St, Houston, TX 77018, US, on June 27, 2026, from 9:00 am to 9:55 am, followed by a Celebration of Life at Yale Street Baptist Church on June 27, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
