Alicia R. Garcia was born in Eagle Pass, Texas on May 30, 1928, and spent the last 62 years in Houston, Texas. Even though she only had a second-grade education, she taught herself to read and write Spanish and English. Most of her life was spent as a stay-at-home mom. She loved sewing, gardening, cooking, and singing. She loved cooking everything from scratch, especially flour tortillas. When you entered her home, you would hear her singing beautifully.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Garcia, son, Juan Carlos Johnston, and grandson, Michael Martinez.
She is survived by a brother Eduardo Rodriguez, daughters Ana Martinez, Maria Gonzales, and husband, David Medina, granddaughters, Lisa Martinez, Laura Baeza, Erika Valentin, Suzette Johnston, Crystal Johnston, Ashley Harrell, Charley Johnston, grandsons Roland Gonzales and Thomas Gonzales, and several great-grandchildren.
In her passing, the family will continue to trust in Jesus Christ for peace and comfort knowing she is with her husband, family members, friends, and most importantly with our Lord and Savior.
