The news has come as  a real shock to me and my colleagues in the office. I have known him since his TYCO Electronics days when he was the country head for the Energy division. It was pleasure working with him as he would always make you understand the technical details of the product before selling the same.

Even with his tremendous  knowledge and command over the subject he was a very humble human being. We will surely miss him.

May his soul rest in peace.

Ali was the person who first introduced me to the intricacies of cable accessories . He was so patient and courteous in explaining all details to me, a total novice and layman, not only initially but on all later occasions when I sought his expert guidance. Very soft spoken, extremely knowledgeable and always eager to explain the technical issues. He will be greatly missed by all. May God give his family the strength to bear this huge loss and rest his soul in everlasting peace.

Not able to digest the fact that you are no more with us. Only the previous night of your leaving for Kolkotta, we spoke for a long time and we have agreed that we will meet soon at Mumbai.

Ali and I were associated for almost three decades.  He was more a friend and less of a boss to me.  This past one week has brought forward lovely memories of working with him, which were lying dormant and some almost forgotten.  Small endearing things that he did on various occasions made Ali a lovely and thoughtful human being.  He was always soft spoken, courteous and extremely humble, in spite of the large phenomena his name carried in the Indian Electrical fraternity.  In all my years of knowing Ali, he has never lost his temper and had super conviction power to win over customers, friends and associates.  

Ali has left a void that no shoes can fill, yet his legacy will live on for a long time through his work, teachings and learning imparted to many in India, as well as, abroad. 

We will miss you Ali.

You will always remain an inspiration to all who have know you !!! You will be missed dearly.

The last two months of Ali's life were spent in India working closing with the team of Raychem India.  It started with his participation in one of the exhibitions to presenting a paper at a renowned institution, attending a colleague's daughter's wedding and making site visits.  We share some the the last pictures of Ali in constant motion, always in his working boots.  RIP Ali, you will be missed plentiful at Raychem India.

Ali was a mentor, guide and saviour. He spearheaded development & propagation of Cable Accessories, whether in Mahindra Engg & Chemical Products Pune or later in Raychem. In MECP he was the faculty to all of us, and today who so ever is active in this field has been an alumni of MECP:

When Ali left MECP he once again led from the front, the team comprising Homi Patel, Sunil Kumar, Ashok Saigal, S Jeyaram, Dinesh Patrawala, Dinesh Prabhu, etc, to establish what is generic in India to Heat Shrink technology.

There have been a lot of me-too companies and "technocrats" but Ali was way ahead on all fronts. 

Thanks for taking such good care of Ali. I will miss him.

Mr Ali has been in the Cable Jointing business for decades & I had the pleasure of interacting with him for long. He was a soft spoken person whom I will miss.

Ali was one of the most respected engineers and technologist and I always had great regards for him having interacted with him on number of occasions.
Whenever he approached us with a new product or a new technology, he never sounded like a salesman but rather a professor who is eager to teach his students something new.
We have been able to resolve quite a few issues specially regarding the cables and cable terminations with his help and he is one of the best experts that I know of in this field.
My condolences for the departed soul and may GOD give his family and his extended family in Raychem the strength to bear the loss.
