

Born in Kilgore TX to Robert and Rosa Lea Cleveland, he was the oldest of three children.
Allan graduated from Goodrich High School in Goodrich Texas. He then entered Sam Houston State University in Huntsville TX. Allan earned his BS in Engineering while serving in the Army Reserve. After graduation he served one full enlistment term in the United States Air Force. Later he met and married his loving wife Theresa in Houston TX in 1961.
Allan moved his wife and three daughters from Shreveport LA to Houston TX in 1974 when he went to work for Cameron.
He was very active in the community and family life.He volunteered for Cypress United Methodist Church as a chaperone for youth group trips, usher, and great friend to every member of his church family.
Allan was very proud to be a Veteran. He helped make care packages for our Military serving overseas with Cypress Cares. He also helped lay wreaths at the Houston National Cemetery on Veterans Day.
His favorite hobby was Lionel trains and most recently could be found many Saturdays at Zube Park in Cypress TX helping Houston Area Live Steamers with public train runs and work days.
Allan was a member of Cypress Masonic Lodge #1423 for many years and was devoted to every member of his lodge. He frequently worked on fundraisers and various activities for the community through the Masons. His most important fundraiser was an annual BBQ cook off and silent auction open to the public with all the money raised going to Susan G. Komen Foundation and www.reachunlimited.org where youngest daughter Lanell with special needs attends adult activities and job training daily. Allan was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather and loyal friend.
He is survived by Theresa Cleveland, his cherished wife of over 50 years. Daughters Lisa Cleveland Lusby and her husband Richard. Lana Cleveland Forrest and her husband Mark. Leslie Cleveland Behrend and her husband Matt. Lanell Cleveland his youngest daughter. Grandchildren Seth Behrend, Katie Lusby, Drew Behrend.Sister Laura Cleveland Winborne and Brother Dale Cleveland and their families.Countless friends and loved ones.Preceded in death by his father Robert Cleveland and mother Rosa Lea Cleveland.
Visitation will be Tuesday May 22nd at Brookside Funeral Home - Cypress Creek from 5PM to 8PM. A celebration of Allan’s life will be Wednesday May 23rd starting at 11:45AM at Cypress United Methodist Church 13403 Cypress North Houston Rd, Cypress TX. Allan will be buried with military honors at the Houston National Cemetery 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive at 1:30PM. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that charitable donations be made to Reach Unlimited, Inc. 12777 Jones Road, Suite 103, Houston, TX 77070.
