

Allan was born August 2, 1929 in Burton, Texas to Edward and Bertha Koerth. He graduated from Burton High School and attended Sam Houston State College earning a degree in Education and History. Upon graduation, he worked as a teacher and coach at Rock Island High School. From 1951-1953, he served his country during the Korean War, 35th Infantry, U.S. Army. In 1953, he joined Adams Resources. He attended University of Houston at night where he received his degree in Accounting and earned his CPA. He continued working at Adams Resources and Service Transport for 52 years before retiring.
On July 18, 1958 Allan married Betty Avery and for over 57 years they were united in marriage. They were blessed with four wonderful children; Kenneth Allan, David Edward, Charles Benjamin, Melinda Carol and eight delightful grandchildren.
Allan was an active member of Epiphany Lutheran church in Pearland and served many years as the Treasurer. He enjoyed playing softball in his early years and passed that love on to his sons. He also enjoyed playing golf and a good game of SKAT or dominoes. But his most beloved passion was his garden in the backyard where he grew black-eyed peas, squash, bell peppers and tomatoes.
Allan is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Bertha; his sister Betty Petersen, and his son Kenneth Koerth. Allan is survived by his wife Betty; son David and wife Michelle, son Charles and wife Teri, daughter Melinda and husband Jonathan; daughter-in law Karen; grandchildren, Nicole Koerth, Katie Koerth, Zachary Koerth, Austin Koerth, Joshua Hubbard, Garrett Koerth, Christie Koerth, and Matthew Hubbard; and siblings; brother Delton Koerth, sister Daulene Hopmann, brother Billy Dean Koerth.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association.
