

Alma ("Amy") Kennedy Hook
passed away on November 29, 2011. She was born October 1, 1922 to James B. Kennedy and Hartzell Barker Kennedy in St. Alban's, WV. Amy graduated from West Virginia University in 1943 and received her Master's Degree in Education from Duquesne University in 1971. She spent her career teaching history and remedial reading to high school students in both Texas and Pennsylvania. Amy was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore M. Hook, and sister, Ruth Lovald. She is survived by her three sons: James Kennedy Hook and wife Marion of Tucson, AZ, Alan Scott Hook and wife Judy of Overland Park, KS, and Jacob Theodore Hook and wife Chris of Houston; three grandchildren: Sharon, Ellen and Jay, and five great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at 3:00 p.m at the John Wesley United Methodist Church 5830 Bermuda Dunes Drive, Houston, TX 77069.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Audubon Society, 1150 Connecticut Ave., NW, Suite 600, Washington, DC 20036 or to a charity of your choice .
