Alvin Thomas Kiel slipped quietly into the arms of our Lord and Savior on Thursday, Sept 8, 2011. Born May 22, 1924 in Houston TX. He served proudly aboard the USS Tennessee during WWII. Alvin retired in 1977 from the Houston Fire Department after 22 1\2 years. He was married to his lifelong love, Ruth, for 65 years, 8 months and 11 days. He will be greatly missed by his wife Ruth; children, Lynn Kiel and wife Peggy, Debbie Kiel , Peggy Clack and husband Larry; grandchildren, Jennifer Clack, Kelly and Chris Turk, Kevin and Robin Kiel, Lauri and Curtis Lenox; great grandchildren, Taylor, Haley, Kristin, Kori, Kaley, Leah , Layla, Lucy. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm Sunday, September 11, 2011 at Brookside Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00pm Monday, September 12, 2011 at Brookside Funeral Home chapel with interment to follow in Brookside Memorial Park.
