Mr. Alvin Landry, affectionately known as “Al” was born in Gretchen, Louisiana. He was the second of five children born unto Victor and Elizabeth Landry. His parents proceeded him in death along with two siblings, Lawrence and Leon Landry.

Al attended St. Augustine High School in New Orleans Louisiana. Immediately after graduating, he joined the United States Air Force which afforded him the opportunity to see the world. He was a proud Veteran and frequently shared with others how he fought in the Korean War.

In 2003 at the age of 69, Al united with Bishop James Dixon and The Community Of Faith Church and was baptized. Al loved the Lord and was passionate about the teaching of the Word. For over three decades he worked for Spaw Glass Construction Company as a foreman. Al has left his finger print all throughout Houston and the surrounding areas through his work in construction, from the Skyscrapers in downtown Houston to the Cynthia Wood Pavilion. He later became the owner of his own construction company “Al Landry Services.”

Al met no strangers and will be greatly missed by his family, friends and neighbors, where he was self-titled as the neighborhood watcher.

Al leaves to cherish his memory: a loving, faithful wife of 44 years: Rosie Landry; daughter: Chadela Clayton; granddaughter: Nicole Baker (Tony) Gonzales; and his newest joy his great granddaughter: Isabella Rose Gonzalez; a brother Melvin Landry; a sister Betty Landry Videau; and a host of nieces and nephews.
