Amy Ruth (Pierce) Mimes

Amy Ruth Pierce Mimes was born on July 26, 1951, in Pineville, Louisiana; was the second of two children born to the union of the late James Pierce, Sr., and Maud Ella Smith Pierce. Amy grew up in the Rigolette/Camp Stafford community in Pineville.

Amy accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized by her late brother, Rev. Dr. Edward D. Pierce, Pastor, Lone Start Baptist Church on July 6, 1956. Lone Star was very dear to Amy with her lifetime membership where she faithfully participated in the church choirs, as a soloist and choir member, including participating in various other church activities.

Amy was educated in the Rapides Parish School System. Amy attended Kelso Elementary, Jones Street Junior High School, and Crepe Myrtle High School, graduating in May 1969. Following graduation, Amy worked in various childcare jobs and retired from the Rapides Parish School Systems.

At an early age, Amy married Dean Allen Fields, Sr., on March 27, 1970. To that union, one child was born, Dean Allen Fields, Jr. Amy later married Michale O. Mimes, Sr., on July 25, 1987, and to that union was born one son, Michael O. Mimes, Jr.

Amy was a sweet-spirited individual and a loving mother, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, niece, cousin, friend, neighbor, coworker, and church member too many individuals she interacted with in her amazing lifetime.

Amy was preceded in death by her parents, James and Maud Ella Smith Pierce Sr.; her late husband, Michael O. Mimes, Sr.; her son, Dean Allen Fields, Jr.; her grandson, Deamonta D. Campbell; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Rev. Dr. Edward D. Pierce (Pearline) and James M. Pierce (Ruth); and several nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives and friends.

Amy leaves to cherish her precious memories her son, Michael O. Mimes, Jr. (Kimberly), El Dorado, AR; granddaughter, Lakeria Campbell, New Iberia, LA; brother, James Charles Pierce (Ada), Springfield, VA; Derrick Blade, Pineville, LA; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives, friends, and her Lone Star Missionary Baptist Church family.
