Andrea Annie Martinez

She is survived by her spouse of fifty-three years, Salvador Martinez, Jr., and was preceded in death by her daughter, Serena Ann Martinez, and survived by daughter Cynthia M. Wilkins and husband Lionel S. Wilkins, son Salvador Martinez, III, grandson Mark Anthony Mottu-Martinez and spouse Jeanette Gutierrez, great-granddaughters Jayla, Calli and Madi, granddaughter Angelique Martinez-Cano and husband Roger Cano.

Andrea was born on July 20, 1947, in Houston, Texas, to the late Theodore Rocha Jr. and Brigida Garcia-Rocha. She grew up surrounded by her siblings: Dolores Gonzalez, Theodore Rocha III, Joe Rocha, Rudy Rocha, Robert Rocha, Manuel Rocha, Richardo Rocha, Michael Rocha, and Rosemary Rocha, as well as numerous aunts and uncles. Andrea graduated from Austin High School and studied cosmetology.

She met her husband, Salvador Martinez, in 1969 and instantly fell in love. They knew they both shared a love for family and decided to start their own. As a mother of three children, she was generous, loving, and kind. Andrea soon became a grandmother and a great-grandmother and was thrilled to see her family growing. She loved to spoil her family with special outings and gifts in her free time.

She was employed by ABM Janitorial Services and held the prestigious role of Project Manager during the early 1980s. It was an honor to have such a title as a Hispanic female. In August 2018, she retired from the University of Houston.

She loved to entertain and host gatherings. She enjoyed traveling and taking trips and cruises all over the world. In 2022, she fulfilled her dream of visiting Hawaii, memories that will carry on through her family.

She put all her energy into providing unconditional support, love, and guidance and was nonjudgmental. She was sharp when reminding you of your actions and taught you lessons from your life choices.

She will be dearly missed.

A visitation for Andrea will be held Friday, March 29, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Crespo, 4136 BROADWAY ST, HOUSTON, TX 77087. A funeral service will occur Saturday, March 30, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, 4136 BROADWAY ST, HOUSTON, TX 77087. A committal will occur Saturday, March 30, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery, 6900 Lawndale St, Houston, TX 77023.
