

Andrew (Andy) C. Dobard, 88, of Katy Tx, passed away April 19, 2022 in Katy, Tx. He was born to father Andrew T. Dobard and mother Erma (Dorothy) Matthies in Houston, Tx on June 5, 1933. Andy graduated from Saint Thomas High School in Houston, Tx and earned a Bachelor of Science Industrial Engineering degree from The University of Houston.
Andy served in the US Navy armed forces from 1952 to 1956 during the Korean War. He achieved the rank of Aviation Fire Control Technician Petty Officer Second Class and was honorably discharged September 4, 1956 earning the Good Conduct Metal, National Defense Service Ribbon and Navy Occupation Ribbon. After earning his engineering degree Andy had a long successful career as a mechanical engineer in the oil and gas industry for Tenneco, Inc. He was a member of the Boy Scouts of America and had a passion for wood working, science, hunting, fishing and most of all the love for his wife, family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Andy was a devout Catholic and served as altar boy in his teenage years.
Andy is survived by his beloved wife Mary Jane of 65 years; son, Andrew Christopher and wife Terrie Dobard; daughter, Lori Allison and Husband Steve Brown; Five Grandchildren, Brooks Brown,
Royal Brown, Ariel Hallum, Drake Dobard and Valerie Dobard; Four Great Grandchildren, Aurora Brown, Isla Brown, Trapper Hallum and Tate Brown; Sister, Evelyn Parker; along with many nieces and nephews and extended family members.
Services will be held at American Heritage Funeral Home on May 5, 2022 located at 10710 Veterans Memorial, Dr., Houston, Tx. 77038. Visitation will begin at 11:30 am and the funeral will begin at 12:30 pm. Graveside services will begin at 1:30 pm at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery located across the street.
