Angel Boudreaux

On the bright and blessed day of April 4, 1919, a beautiful baby girl was born to the proud parents, Joseph Boudreaux and Marie Molly Riggs in Church Point, Louisiana. They lovingly named her Angel Boudreaux. She attained a fourth grade education in Acadia Parish, Louisiana. Her education allowed her to achieve outstanding arts, such as quilt making, which was original to each one she made for family and friends. Her canning preserves such as figs, okra, pears, watermelon rims, tomatoes, peas were always exceptional. Her pineapple cake had to be at every family gathering. Anyone who was able to get a piece just had to have another piece, so there was never enough. With the blessing of being reared in a loving home, Angel established a strong religious foundation and held true to the principles that were instilled in her. She was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. She met Mr. Rogers Chavis and they were united in Holy Matrimony November 26, 1939. This union was blessed with eleven beautiful children. Angel Boudreaux departed this earthly life on Saturday, September 19, 2015. She is preceded in death by her father, Joseph Boudreaux; mother, Marie Molly Riggs; and three children. She leaves a lifetime of precious and loving memories to her children, Joseph Chavis of Crosby, Texas, Mary Gladney of Houston, Texas, Russel Chavis (Cookie) of Humble, Texas, Brenda Willis of Houston, Texas, Robert Chavis of Wisconsin, Nelwin Chavis, Pama Lee and Barbara Spencer, all of Houston, Texas; eighteen grandchildren, thirty-five great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Services will be held Saturday, September 26, 2015, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church 12627 West Bellfort Avenue, Sugarland, Texas 77478. Family will receive friends during the viewing beginning at 9:00am. The Rosary will follow at 9:45am. The Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30am.
