Our beloved wife and mother was born in Mena, Arkansas on December 17th, 1958 to her parents John and Viva Kelley. She was the sixth born out of their eight children. They migrated shortly after to Sanger, California where she attended school and met her future husband at the age of 12. Throughout their schooling they became high school sweethearts and soon after married. After the birth of their first son, they relocated in 1977 to Houston, Texas, where she further grew and raised her family.
Our mother was a warm hearted and kind-spirited woman who always put others before herself. She enjoyed many arts and crafts including knitting, crocheting and puzzling, but there was nothing she loved more than lemons and spending time with her grandchildren. She truly enjoyed watching them grow. Her most recent hobbies included spending time with her family watching movies and building Legos together.
She is survived by her husband Arturo Gamez, in which they spent 48 years by each other's side. Her spirit and memory will be carried on by her four children and their families; Arturo Jr., Angela, Martin, and Nicolas. Her son and daughter in laws: Abraham and Naivy, along with her two grandchildren; Adam and Ariana.
She is also survived by her remaining siblings: Rose, Joyce, Bill, Stewart along with many members of the Gamez family including brothers and sisters in law, nieces, and nephews.
After battling and overcoming many years of medical hurdles, she finally succumbed to her illnesses.
She will be forever missed and remain in our hearts.
