Ann Flores Salinas, who has gone to be with the Lord at age 88, was a dedicated Christian missionary with Harvestime Evangelism Ministries, who worked tirelessly for the Lord Jesus Christ in Texas, Mexico, the Philippines, and among the American Indians and migrant farmers in California, Arizona and New Mexico. During her many years service to the Lord, she suffered many hardships and many miracles were wrought by her prayers. Ann was also a gifted musician and songwriter who dedicated her life to spreading the Word of God and recorded three albums of Gospel music.
Antoinette Flores was born in a barn on August 8, 1928, at Sandy Point, Texas, and was the eldest daughter of Edward and Maria Flores.
Ann Flores Salinas, born August 8, 1928, died August 2, 2017.
Ann Flores married Ernest G. Salinas on February 25, 1952, in Houston, Texas. During their sixty-five years of marriage, the Salinas family was blessed with eleven children who actively participated in the missionary work of Harvestime Evangelism Ministries. Having helped her own mother to raise her siblings — Ramona, Janie, Carmen, Virginia, Mary, Edward — Ann had a great love of children, which was greatly reciprocated by all who knew her. To encourage her children and grandchildren not to wander away from her sight, she would frequently tell them how she became lost as a baby and her parents’ unbounded joy at finding her under a wagon in a cotton field. In the last few years of her life, her children dedicated themselves to caring for their mother.
Ann is survived by her husband, Ernest Garza Salinas, and her children: Jesse
David, Adele Ann, Susan Ann, Ernest Lee, Nancy Ann, Mona Lisa, and Elizabeth Anna; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ann is preceded in death by her parents and her children: Angel, Susan Sue, Nancy Mary Ann, and Mario Mark.
