Anna Mae Fanning Oden

Anna Oden , 91, went to be with her Lord on 08-16-2012. She was born in Plymouth, Indiana, on June 28, 1921. Anna met and married William H. Oden in San Diego, California during World War II. They shared a marriage of over 68 years. Anna was a devoted wife and mother, raising three children, Claudia, Dennis and Nathan. While living in San Diego, California, Anna and Bill became involved with the Baptist ministry serving at the Serviceman Center at the First Baptist Church in San Diego, California. Anna and Bill were always involved in Christian service wherever they lived from San Diego, to Foley, Alabama and finally Houston, Texas. In 1957, Anna was involved in starting the Berean Baptist Church in Elberta, Alabama, where she provided the music for the worship services. Bill and Anna eventually moved to Houston, Texas, where they were members of Garden Oaks Baptist Church. In 1988 and 1992, Anna and Bill served the Lord in western Wyoming.

Anna is preceded in death by her husband, Bill and her parents. Anna leaves her three wonderful children, Claudia Pippi, Dennis Oden and wife; Donna, and son Nathan Oden; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters and one brother.

Family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 from 6:00-8:00pm at Pat H. Foley Funeral Directors. The funeral service will be held at 10:00am on Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at the chapel of Pat H. Foley Funeral Directors, interment will follow at the Houston National Cemetery.
