

Anna Grant Logan Paul, 84, our beloved Mother, passed away on April 18, 2013 after a lengthy illness. Ann was born to Tom and Edith Logan in Glasgow, Scotland. On January 1, 1947, Ann arrived in New York City aboard the Queen Elizabeth I to marry her sweetheart, James Martin Paul, Jr. of Houston. They were married 50 years when he passed away in June 1997. Ann graduated from Portree High school on the Isle of Skye where she stayed during WWII to avoid the bombing and was among the first war brides to come to Houston. Prior to raising her six children, Ann worked for Houston National Bank. Ann was an early member of St. Paul Presbyterian Church in Sharpstown. She was also an active member in the Heather and Thistle Club and American Legion Post #77 Ladies Auxiliary. Ann was predeceased by her son, John Thomas Paul in 2009 and is survived by her children: Peggy Leach, James L (Pete) Paul and wife, Cissy, Alan Paul and wife, Sally, Rick Paul and Scott Paul and wife, Tip. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Additional survivors include: her brother, Jim Logan and wife, Glenys of Staffordshire, England as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their gratitude and appreciation to the staff at Colonial Oaks in First Colony, Sugar Land, TX for their love, support and friendship shown to “Ms. Anna” during her 9 year residency.
