Born on March 15th, 1920, in Vayala, Kerala, India, Amma lived a life of love, style, faith, and unforgettable presence. She is preceded in death by 3 children, survived by 6 children, as well as a large and loving family of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Many of whom she helped raise and care for with unmatched tenderness and wisdom.
A woman of deep faith, Amma attended online mass and prayed the rosary daily from home even up until her final days. She grounded herself and those around her with her spiritual strength. She prayed for her family constantly, and her belief in God's grace was a guiding force throughout her life.
She lit up every room she entered—a true fashionista known for her love of bright colors, stylish pajamas, and always making sure her gold jewelry was shining proudly. Her style was bold and beautiful, much like her personality.
Family meant everything to her. Nothing made her happier than being surrounded by loved ones at family gatherings, holidays, and especially during random visits. She would often say she found great joy and fulfillment in the presence of her family, always joking she was never hungry since seeing everyone filled her up with happiness.
Amma was a mother to more than just her immediate children. She raised a stepson, nephew, niece, and many grandchildren from when they were babies as if they were her own children. She loved spending time with her many grandchildren, often rotating between her children’s houses for weeks at a time to help where she could.
She was the heart of our family—not only a mother and grandmother, but also a caretaker, confidante, and storyteller. Her memory was sharp, and the stories she shared from her journey through life could easily fill a book. She never forgot a conversation, always remembering the littlest of details and making each person feel heard, valued, and loved.
Though her physical presence is no longer with us, her love, her lessons, her laughter, and her light remain deeply woven into the fabric of our lives.
Rest peacefully, dearest Amma. Your faith, your style, your love—and your love for gold jewelry—will never be forgotten.
