

Anna Ying Mee Yeung, 79, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2013 after suffering a stroke. She was born on November 20, 1933 in Canton, China to Henry C Joe and Lon Heong Joe. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be greatly missed by all those who had the great fortune to know her and whose lives were enriched and blessed because of her infectious smile and compassionate heart.
She spoiled family and friends with her culinary talents. She was chef to U.S presidents and dignitaries but was happiest preparing home-cooked meals for lively, weekly family gatherings. She was also a self-taught seamstress who designed, hand-embroidered and sewed beautiful wedding dresses, bridesmaids’ dresses and traditional Chinese (cheongsam) dresses for her children, family friends and Miss Chinatown contestants.
Anna leaves behind her husband of 59 years, William Shiu Hong Yeung; six children Lily (Daniel) Chee, Helen (Peter) Lim, John (Louisa) Yeung, Alice (Howard) Gee, Mary (David) Rennie and Elizabeth (Kenneth) Brown; ten grandchildren Carol (Ali) Kazemi, Daniel (Jamie) Chee, Jr., Pamela (Adam) Black, Kimberly Chee (fiancé Ryan McAuley), Meagan Rennie, Andrew Rennie, Kenneth Brown, Jr., Kayla Brown, Nathan Gee and Samuel Gee; four great grandchildren Lily Jeanne Black, Ethan Black, Austin Black, and Elise Chee.
Visitation will be Friday, October 18th from 6pm - 8pm and memorial service on Saturday, October 19th at 10am in the chapel of Memorial Oaks Funeral Home located at 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, TX 77079.
