Annette Evelyn Jones,91, a longtime Houston resident, passed away on Sunday, June 15, 2014 at the age of 91. She was born to Ben and Annie Bradley on the 25th of November 1922 in Arkansas; however the family soon relocated to Houston where she remained for her entire lifetime. Growing up in the Heights, she attended Reagan High School and Heights Presbyterian Church where she was married to Frank Dale Jones in 1946 after his return from World War II. It was a marriage that would last 59 years until his death in 2005. Annette was an avid lifelong church member and remained an active member at Heights Presbyterian for many years as the nursery director, before joining Candlelight Bible Church and then Bethel Church of Houston. She was fiercely independent; living alone, traveling with friends and family, and driving her own car to bible studies and church services up until the last two weeks of her life. She loved helping others. Whether it was baking cakes, preparing meals at the church, sewing, or helping with a garage sale, she was there and would always ask “What can I bring?”. Many fond family memories were created while saltwater fishing in her beloved Port O’Conner Texas where she would often catch the most and the biggest fish. She loved fishing, spectator sports, children, and dogs. People were endeared to her because of her “sassy” nature. Known as “Nutty” by her old friends, she could be described as feisty, with a playful disposition. Preceded in death by her parents and husband, she is survived by her daughter Debbie Morgan and husband Steve of Houston; her son Michael Jones and wife Brenda of Katy; 4 grandchildren: Clay Morgan and wife Erika of San Antonio; Livi Morgan Carpenter and husband Chase of Seattle WA.; Jennifer Jones Justice and husband Jarrod of Knoxville, TN.; and Jeff Jones and fiancé Sara Lucado of Knoxville TN; and five great-grandchildren.
