Cadet Anthony Joseph Carey, born August 2, 1990, in Houston, Texas, went to his eternal rest on August 23, 2012. Deeply loved by his family and friends, Anthony was entering his senior year at Texas A&M University, where he was majoring in agricultural systems management. He was passionately devoted to the Texas Aggies Corps of Cadets, which he credited with his renewed commitment to excellence, hard work, and perseverance.
Remembered as an “outstanding gentleman” by his colleagues in Squadron 18, Anthony loved to serve others with a smile. His life was marked by compassion, kindness, generosity, and tenderness toward those who needed a hand. His caring nature included a special affection for animals.
Anthony’s departure leaves a deep hole in the lives of many people who loved him dearly. Among those are his parents, Carolyn and Charlie Moore, and Michael Carey; his siblings, Erica Carey, Charles (Eileen) Moore, and Kistal (Dave) Key; his grandparents, Jo Crenshaw, and Jay and B.J. Bains; his uncle, Carl Crenshaw and cousins, Alexa Crenshaw, Briana Buzali, David Buzali, Joshua Moore, Derek (Brooke) Key, and Ryan (Michele) Key.
A service of worship, and celebration of Anthony’s life, will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 31, 2012, at Chapelwood United Methodist Church in Houston. A reception will follow at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Texas Aggies Corps of Cadets as suggested.
“The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end (Lamentations 3:22).”
