

Antonia met Joe Lara in Houston, Texas and the two married. Antona had 5 Children and was a very loving and caring person. Without hesitation, she would do anything for anybody in need. Some of her many passions included spending quality time with family, dancing, taking walks, riding her bike and crafting. She enjoyed watching movies, eating her favorite ice cream, going on short trips and taking rides to the beach. Antonia was a woman of faith and a devout member of Lakewood Church. Before retirement she worked as Head Custodian for Pasadena ISD for 33 years. All who knew Antonia will miss her dearly.
In addition to her parents, Antonia is preceded in death by her loving husband, Joe Lara; brothers, Ascension Garcia, Pascual Garcia, Trinidad Garcia, Mike Garcia, Victor Garcia, Isidro Garcia and Marcelino Garcia; sisters, Gregoria Martinez, Nicolasa Arredondo, Cristina Razo and Sally Aguirre.
She is survived by son, Manuel Anthony Garcia and wife Hope; daughter, Albina Garza and husband Juan Garza; son, Gilbert Garcia and wife Yolanda; daughter, Janie Garcia; son, Nicolas Garcia; 14 grandchildren; 25 great - great grandchildren as well as a host of other family and friends.
A visitation for Antonia will be held Sunday, September 24, 2023 from 2:30 PM to 9:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A prayer service will occur Sunday, September 24, 2023 at 4:30 PM in the Grand Chapel at Brookside with a rosary service scheduled to begin at 6:00 PM.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the friends who have shown many acts of kindness during the loss of our mother. Your thoughts, prayers, phone calls, and other expressions of support have been a blessing to our family. Thank you to everyone who attended the Celebration of Life with service for our mother.
