Antonio Burciaga Sr.

Antonio Burciaga Sr., 93, of Houston, TX, passed away on January 17, 2017 in Houston, TX. Antonio Burciaga Sr. was born in Thompson, Texas to Pablo and Angela Burciaga on June 13, 1923. He was a World War II veteran and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for actions over Europe in a B-24 as a tail gunner. He and his fellow bomber crew flew over 33 missions. Antonio is preceded in death by his wife, Otila Villarreal Burciaga. Antonio is survived by his son, Tony (Aurelia) and daughters Lydia Escalera, Mary Sanchez and Margaret Box (Donald) as well as twelve grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren, two great-great grandsons, brother Raul Burciaga and sister Chelo Dominguez. Visitation will be held at Crespo Funeral Home – 4136 Broadway, Houston, TX 77087 on January 20, 2017 at 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM. Funeral service will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe – 2405 Navigation Houston, TX 77003 on January 21, 2017 at 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM with Father Timothy Gray of Our Lady of Guadalupe officiating. Burial/Interment will follow at Forest Park – 6900 Lawndale Houston, TX 77023.

Condolences to the family and friends of Tony. Mr.Burciaga was a real nice man, whom was never to busy to strike up a conversation with us who grew up in El Dorado. His children were all such good people. and its easy to see that his wonderful legacy remains in good hands with you,his family.
