Our beloved mother and grandmother of four, ARABELLA AMELITA GIRADO ILAGAN, fondly known to many as "BELLE", passed away peacefully in the morning of Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at the age of 82, at her abode enveloped in the love of her family.
She was born on June 21, 1941 to the late Jose Ma. and Gertrudes Girado at Binalbagan, Negros Occidental, Philippines, she being the fourth among the 5 children.
She graduated with a degree of Bachelor in Science in Midwifery at Manila Central University. Worked as a Municipal Midwife in the town of Tacurong where they have migrated. She practiced her degree with outmost diligence, passion, cheerfulness and tact that many people learned to love and adore her. "No dull moments" as they said, because she is the life of the group.
While she worked, she never forgot to serve God through her ministry works, serving as the President of the Nuestra Senora dela Candelaria Parish, doing everything for the good and welfare of the parishioners. She gained true friendship to religious people and helped them in her own little way with her family to give support to religious people.
Married to Hilarion "Larry" Ilagan for 58 years and they were blessed with three children: Eden married to Jun, Hilary Jon married to Fe and Michelle married to Jojie. Happy as she was, she was graced with four grandchildren: Ralph, Maureen, Jonathan and Kenneth. The joy having a family who are loving and respectful, served an inspiration for her to live.
She left a sister sibling, Imogene, cousins, nieces and nephews in the Philippines with whom she always looked back, a reason for her to visit Philippines.
Migrated in Houston, Texas on December 1994 with her husband, Larry and two daughters, she was able to find a place to settle contently. Here, she served her husband with love, help raised her two grandsons, enjoyed the company of relatives, worked and helped in the senior center, and gained new friends.
As she departed from this earthly world, she will remain in our hearts, the memories of her will be our treasure to keep and cherished forever. May God grant her eternal peace in paradise.
Quoting Abraham Lincoln, he once said, "In the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years.”
This quote beautifully encapsulates the essence of a life Belle well-lived and can serve as a poignant reminder to everyone of a woman who have served and loved as what the Lord have commanded.
We express our heartfelt thanks and gratitude to everyone who have shared our sorrow in this time of bereavement.
Please join us in celebrating her life on a Saturday afternoon on May 11, 2024 between 2:00 - 6:00 in the afternoon at Garden Oaks Funeral Home and Crematory 13430 Bellaire Blvd Houston, TX 77083 . Tel # 281-530-5400
