Arelis Mireya Montenegro

Arelis Mireya Montenegro Galvez passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at the age of 67 after a courageous battle with cancer. Arelis was born in Guatemala, Central America and was a resident of Katy, Texas. She is preceded in death by her mother Yelba, her father, Oscar and her sister, Yelba Rosa. Survivors include her loving husband, Ruben S., her daughter Maria, her sons, Jonathan and Ruben Jr., and daughter-in-law, Nayeska. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Bryant, Mireya, Tyler, Luydmila, Antonella, and Luciana.

Arelis proudly worked at Prosperity Bank in Katy. She was a beloved Wife, Mami, Nana, Sister, and Friend. Always very active in the lives of her children and grandchildren. Eating at new restaurant in Katy, and shopping every Saturday with her "girls" was amongst her favorite things to do. Nothing made her happier than being around her family and close friends. Her kindness and smile will be missed very much by all who knew her.

Arelis Mireya Montenegro life will be celebrated on October 29, 2022 from 4PM at the Main Chapel at Garden Oaks Funeral Home.

Arelis Mireya Montenegro Galvez falleció el Martes, 11 de Octubre de 2022, a la edad de 67 años luego de una valiente batalla contra el cáncer. Arelis nació en Guatemala, América Central y era residente de Katy, Texas. Le precedieron en la muerte su madre Yelba, su padre Oscar y su hermana Yelba Rosa. Los sobrevivientes incluyen a su amado esposo, Ruben S., su hija María, sus hijos, Jonathan y Ruben Jr., y su nuera, Nayeska. También le sobreviven sus queridos nietos, Bryant, Mireya, Tyler, Luydmila, Antonella y Luciana.

Arelis trabajó con orgullo en Prosperity Bank en Katy. Ella era una amada esposa, mami, nana, hermana y amiga. Siempre muy activa en la vida de sus hijos y nietos. Comer en un nuevo restaurante en Katy y hacer compras todos los sábados con sus "chicas" era una de sus actividades favoritas. Nada la hacía más feliz que estar cerca de su familia y amigos cercanos. Todos los que la conocieron extrañarán mucho su amabilidad y su sonrisa.

La vida de Arelis Mireya Montenegro se celebrará el 29 de octubre de 2022 a partir de las 4:00 p. m. en la Capilla Principal de Garden Oaks Funeral Home.
