Armando “Mando” Cardona, 79, of Houston, Texas, passed away on August 30, 2022. He was born in Houston, Texas on October 12, 1942 to parents Rebecca and Juan Cardona. He was a lifelong member of El Mesias United Methodist Church. Armando graduated from Austin High School and received a Technical degree from Houston Community College. He met Josephine in Houston and married on August 14, 1970. Armando worked as a Technician at Southwestern Bell for 30 years. He was a member of The Fraternal Order of Eagles and had a passion for his grandchildren.
He served in the United States Air Force from 1962-1966 as an Electric Power Production Specialist. He also served as Treasurer of El Mesias Methodist Church Men’s Club, Vice President of The Fraternal Order of Eagles, member of AT&T Retirees “Old Phonies”, and was Treasurer of the Green Forest Civic Club Aldine Community.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Juan and Rebecca Cardona, his brothers, Abelardo Cardona and John Cardona, his sister, Armandina Boyle.
He is survived by his wife, Josephine Cardona, his daughters, Adrienne Mendoza and her husband Jose Mendoza, and their children Matthew and Alyssa. Lisa Myers and her husband David Myers, and their children Ryan and Grace, his sister Dalila Espinedo, and numerous nephews, nieces, and friends.
