He is preceded in death by his parents, Tommie JD Barnes and Alice Webb Barnes.
He is survived by his loving wife, Pamela Barnes; children, Shanna Wuensche and husband, Tim of Austin, TX., Arthur Barnes, Jr. and partner, Jonathan Lei, of Houston, TX., Jennifer Fernandez and husband Dennis of Spring, TX.; Brother, Timothy Barnes and partner, Ron of Washington, D.C., Philip Barnes and wife Destiny of Hurst, TX., Danny Barnes of Hurst, TX.; Ten grandchildren and one Great-granddaughter.
The family will have a private memorial at a later date.
