

Arthur Rudolph Draeger, 71, former U.S. Marine, of New Caney, TX went to be with Our Lord Saturday, January 14, 2012. He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Patricia JoAnn Draeger. Arthur was born in Houston, TX on July 21, 1940 to Arthur R. Draeger and Jean San Miguel. Arthur attended C.E. King High School before joining the Marine Corps in 1957.
He leaves behind: his mother, Jean Frazier; three daughters, Deborah Williamson, Darlene Carnes, and Lindy Smith (Matt); four sons, Douglas Draeger (Kelly), Kirk Draeger, Christopher Guerrero (Jennifer), and Sean Guerrero (Keri); grandchildren, Randall Draeger, Heather King, Jody Williamson, Jessica Cole, Misti Scott, BJ Spence, Samantha Langwell, Sean Guerrero, Karen Blumrick, Isiah Guerrero, Victoria Draeger, and Ethan Guerrero; great-grandchildren, Justin King, Britney King, Natalie Williamson, Leona Williamson, Eli Scott, Caleb Cole, Alora Cole, John Michael Cole, Lucy Cole, Alex Robles, Matt Robles, and Veronica Robles; great great grandchild, Eli Salazar; extended family, Rita Brady; sisters, Mary Jane Hymas, Joyce Johnson, Olga Nelson, Alice Cox, and Sandra “Chick” Draeger; brothers, Albert Draeger, Robert Draeger, Ray Draeger, David Frazier, and Deann Robinson; and many friends.
Serving as active pallbearers: Douglas Draeger, Kirk Draeger, Christopher Guerrero, Sean Guerrero, Randall Draeger, Jody Williamson, BJ Spence, Sean “Chopey” Guerrero, Isiah "Porkchop" Guerrero and honorary pallbearer, Ethan Guerrero.
He is preceded in death by: his daughter, Laura Spence; father, Arthur R. Draeger; brother, William Draeger; and step-father, Dee Frazier.
Arthur was Vice Commander of the New Caney American Legion Post 615 and a faithful member of St. John of the Cross Catholic Church. He enjoyed motorcycles, custom cars, fishing, hunting, history and old movies.
Viewing will be held at Brookside Funeral Home Champions on Thursday, January 19 from 6 until 8 pm with a Rosary to follow. Funeral services will begin at 10:30 at Christ the Good Shepherd 18511 Klein Church, Spring, TX 77379 with internment to follow at Houston National Cemetery.
