

Arthur James Gillian, 74, of Humble Texas, passed away February 7, 2022. Arthur was born August 25, 1947, in Houston Texas to the late Mr. Arthur Gillian and late Mrs. Inez Eaglin. He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized at Starlight Baptist Church. Arthur graduated from Charlton Pollard High School in Beaumont Texas in 1965 and later enlisted in the US Navy, where he served his country from 1965 until 1969. Upon leaving the Navy, Arthur met Janice Clark, whom he married March 14, 1970, settling in Los Angeles California, before moving to Carson California. He was an active member and usher at Mt Zion Missionary Baptist Church. In 1997 he moved to Fort Worth Texas. In 2001 Arthur relocated to Houston Texas and later to Humble Texas.
It was in the Navy where Arthur learned and began his lifetime love of Aviation Mechanics. He began his career in Aircraft Mechanics at Bethlehem Steele, later moving on to Lockheed, Flying Tigers, and Fed Ex Express, where he retired in 2013. Arthur loved his church home of St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church, where he held many roles as Trustee, head of parking security, usher, photographer, and sang in the male choir. His works continued with the prison ministry, vacation bible school, and the Angel Tree. He enjoyed being a HAM Radio operator and an ARRL Radio operator. Arthur was a member of the (TEAC) Texas Emergency Amateur Communications, and the (CERT) Community Emergency Response Team, and successfully completed the National Weather Service SkyWarn spotter Training. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family, especially his grandkids and great grandkids.
He is survived by his Wife Janice Gillian, Daughters: Dana Rochelle Gillian and Denise Renee Gillian. Grandchildren: Eddie Dean Corbin III, Mykeal Renee Monroe and Daja Rochelle Monroe, Jenice Renee Gillian, Mykaila Rochelle Gillian and Jakob Rylee Gillian. Great Grandchildren: Keyon D. Green, Jasyn Gillian, Evan and Ella Corbin, My’Lee and Madisyn Johnson, Milan White, Ever Corbin, and unborn Ky’Lee Johnson. His Sisters: Barbara Wright, Brenda Baines, Deborah Bryant (Jesse), and Angela Brown (Gregory), and Brother Alan Eaglin. Special friend Cynthia Adkins. And a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends that loved and will miss him.
