Art was born in Brooklyn, New York. The family soon moved to the suburbs of Philadelphia. As a child and into his teenage years, Art spent his summers in Breezy Point, NY where he developed a love for the small beach community and formed life-long friendships. He graduated from Conestoga High School in Berwyn, PA. After receiving his degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management from Pennsylvania State University, he began a career in Hotel and Convention Sales working in Chicago, Washington D.C. and Long Beach, CA.
Art became the proud father of Ian in November 1993. Ian was the twinkle in Art’s eye. As a father, Art doted on Ian and wanted to teach him about the Lord, and how to become a man. Every single hour he was able to spend with Ian, that is what he did. Art was very involved in supporting Ian in all of his sports endeavors by often serving as his coach, driver, and Ian’s biggest fan. Ian was involved in many sports including: BMX bike racing, skiing, surfing, snowboarding, skateboarding, baseball and soccer, to name a few.
In June 2006, Art took Susan on their first date. It soon became apparent that the two of them were meant to be together and on February 7, 2009, they were married. The two love-birds enjoyed many outdoor activities together including spending time with Ian, his grandchildren, friends and family… but most importantly, they shared a deep love for the LORD and God’s people. They continued to worship God to the last minute of Art’s life.
During his adult life, Art spent much of his time vigorously sharing the Gospel. He had an unquenchable thirst for the Bible and frequently led Bible Studies with his relatives, friends and members of his church. During his career, he organized annual Hospitality Prayer events to encourage his colleagues in their walk of faith.
Later in life he became a Real Estate Agent in northern Virginia and Houston. Art was an energetic outdoorsman who participated in cycling, hunting, fishing, skiing, birding, hiking and many other outdoor activities.
Art was an active member of The Church Triumphant in Pasadena, Texas. He served as a D4 Discipleship teacher, held monthly Life Groups in his home, was the Director of the Parking Lot ministry and he was also very active in the Men’s ministry. He regularly attended Monday night Bible Study at the TCT, weekly “Men of God” meetings. Art was always looking for new ways to serve the Lord and minister to God’s people. He received great joy in serving and encouraging members of the church including widows and those in need.
