And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
Audie Mozelle Miller Morton was born on February 18, 1926 to Randal Lazar Miller and Sally Elizabeth Simmons Miller. She grew up in the Texas towns of Woden and Alvin. She received the Holy Ghost and was baptized in Jesus name at a Brush Arbor revival service. From that time, church, southern gospel music, and a daily walk with God were the defining elements of her life.
It was at a Woden church service in 1944 while she was playing guitar and singing with her sister, Iris, that Grady Oral Morton first saw her and decided he had to meet her. He walked her home after every church service even though he had to walk a few miles out of the way of his own house. He became her darling and she was his sugar plum. He was drafted into the army during WW II and she waited for his return. After Grady’s honorable discharge, they were married on August 28, 1946. They soon moved to Houston where they raised 3 children, a son Darvin Grady, and daughters Deanette Jane and Delanie Jill. Audie was a stay home mother who loved her family and cared for their every need.
She was preceded in death by her parents Randal Lazar and Sally Elizabeth Simmons Miller; husband Grady Oral; son Darvin Grady; great-grandson Jayce Daniel Perry; son-in-law Del Frein; brothers William Jefferson, Marvin Aller, Opie Gilbert, Frank Wright, Roy Link and Jesse Aden; and sisters Bonnie Ruth and Iris Anita. She is survived by her daughters Deanette Frein and Delanie Babineau and her husband Ryan; grandchildren Stacey Sims and her husband Ronnie, Kimberly Lindsey and her husband Shane, Misty Morton, James Dean Perry and wife Paula, Kristie Elaine Perry, Lydia Faith Babineau and Abigail Elayne Babineau; great-grandchildren Dakota Lindsey, Colton Lindsey, Zoe Phoenix, Sierra Sims, Savannah Sims, Kristen Perry, Molly Stiteler and Aerianna Perry; and great-great-grandchildren Dakota Lindsey Jr, Oliver Lindsey and Ember Stiteler.
On September 28, 2016 at the age of 90, Audie went home to be with her Lord who she loved and served faithfully. She talked with Jesus every day and today the conversation continues face to face.
