August was born on August 28, 1960 in San Fernando, Pampanga in the Philippines. He was very involved in government politics and his local church. After immigrating to the United States, August followed his passion for cooking and became the Banquet Director in several hotels until he retired.
His family would describe him as loyal, dependable and a best friend to his brothers and sisters. His bond with his siblings was something to be admired, often speaking to them daily. He was also the primary caretaker to his elder sister Divina for many years and we are forever grateful. He was the glue that held the family together, often coordinating family gatherings and capturing memories. He was passionate about his faith. His love for his family came second only to his devotion to God.
August was a second father to some, showering love to every niece, nephew and grandchild like they were his own. He was an amazing caregiver and selfless. He helped raised every child in the family in one-way or another. Whether it was babysitting while their parents were away, driving to school games and concerts, or giving advice. August is definitely a rare breed in this world. It’s rare to find a man so loving, family oriented, intelligent and full of personality. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him.
