Augustine Castillo

He was born on September 26, 1944, in Corpus Christi, Texas, to Macario Castillo and Jesusa Ramos Castillo.

Augustine proudly served in the United States Navy from 1964 to 1968 and was honorably discharged after earning the National Defense Service Medal.

He was preceded in death by his wives, Elida S. Castillo and Mary Castillo.

He is survived by his daughters, Linda Marie Castillo and Kelly Monique Smith; his sons, Reynaldo Martinez, Ricardo Martinez, Joseph Torres, Adam Torres, Steven Torres, and Christopher Torres; along with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Augustine loved watching sports and was known for his sense of humor. He especially enjoyed watching the birds outside his window, finding comfort in those quiet moments. He also loved music, especially “Rinconcito en el Cielo,” and is now at rest, preparing a little corner in heaven for his loved ones.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Kelly for the love, care, and support she gave Augustine in his later years.

Visitation will be held at American Heritage Funeral Home, 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038, US, on May 14, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, followed by a Celebration of Life at the same location on May 14, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.
