Avanell Frank

Avanell Frank , 91, passed away Saturday, January 8, 2011. A celebration of her life will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, January 14, 2011 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Mrs. Fannie N. Parker will officiate. Interment will follow at Memorial Oaks Cemetery.

Avanell was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Frank. She is survived by her daughter Farrel Nix and her husband Eric of Columbus, GA and her son Burck Frank and his wife Gayle of San Francisco, CA. She has six grandsons, Bruce Rachel and his wife Megan, Alan Nix and his wife Malia, Craig Nix and his wife Linda, Seth Frank and his wife Amy, Todd Frank and his wife Chieko, both of San Francisco CA, and Andy Nix and his wife Meredith of Birmingham AL, and 12 great grandchildren.

A lifelong Houstonian, Avanell worked in the office of Bellaire High School before her retirement in 1979. Her zest for living was an inspiration for her family throughout her life. She filled her life with family, friends, travel, exercise and all the many things Houston has to offer.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Columbus Hospice (7020 Moon Road, Columbus, GA 31820), or a church or charity of your choice.
