Bach-Quang Thi Nguyen

Bach-Quang Thi Nguyen, affectionately known as Bach-Quang, passed away on July 8, 2024, in her hometown of Houston, Texas. Born on March 22, 1943, Bach-Quang was a beloved resident of Houston since 1978.

Bach-Quang, a single mother who arrived in the United States as a refugee in 1975, was sponsored by the First Baptist Church of Panama City, Florida. She later settled in Houston and worked tirelessly at Hydril Company for nearly 20 years before embarking on her entrepreneurial journey, opening Judy Nail Salon. Her hard work and dedication enabled her to pay off her home early and retire, fulfilling her dreams of exploring the world.

Bach-Quang had a profound love for food and cooking. She delighted in exploring new cuisines and was known for her culinary skills, especially in Vietnamese dishes. Her passion for food extended beyond her kitchen; she loved sharing meals and recipes with family and friends, always ensuring everyone felt welcome at her table. Additionally, she particularly enjoyed seeking out the best Bun Bo Hue, Bun Rieu, Bun Mang Vit, Bun Xuong, Vit Quay, Korean Bar-B-Q and more.

A generous soul, Bach-Quang's kindness touched the lives of many. She was known for her warm heart, her readiness to help others, and her unwavering support for her family. Her legacy of generosity and compassion will continue to inspire those who knew and loved her.

In 1975, Bach-Quang met her beloved spouse, Quang Nhu Truong, in Panama City, Florida. Together, they raised two children: Thomas Thu Nguyen and Tim Quang Nguyen.

Bach-Quang is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Quang Nhu Truong and her eldest son, Thomas Nguyen. She is survived by her devoted son, Tim; loving daughter-in-law, Thuy, (grandchildren’s mothers, Dale Nguyen and Ashley Nguyen); six cherished grandchildren Emily, Leah, Audrey, April, Nicolas, and Noah; numerous nieces and nephews; and her two adored great-grandchildren, Charlotte and Ella.

A celebration of Bach-Quang 's life will be held on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, from 9am-11am at Garden Oaks Funeral Home located at 13430 Bellaire Blvd Houston, Texas 77083. Following the service the cremation will be held at Chapel of Eternal Peace at Forest Park, located at 2454 S. Dairy Ashford Rd, Houston, Texas 77077.

Bach-Quang Thi Nguyen will be remembered not only as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother but also as a passionate cook, a generous spirit, and a cherished friend to many.
