Barbara graduated from John H. Reagan High School Class of 1968 and received her Diploma. She met Robert Boyd in Houston, Texas and married on Oct 3, 1969. Barbara had a career as a Manager at Memorial Hermann for 38 years and 10 months. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and had a passion for singing.
Barbara is preceded in death by her parents Howard & Ruth Kieschnick, her sister Darlene Gibson, brother Terry Kieschnick, and her husband Robert Boyd.
Barbara is survived by her daughter Shannon Boyd, grandson David Hill (wife Alicia), granddaughter Roxana Powell (husband Eric Powell), great-grandchildren Bella, Diesel, and Nova, sisters Judy Cross, Nancy Whitchurch, Donna Kieschnick, brother-in-law Ben Boyd (wife Charlene), best friend Alvina Urbanowski, and many nephews, nieces, cousins, friends, and many others.
Please wear colorful clothing in honor of Nana. We invite everyone who wants to participate in the graveside ceremony to watch her be lowered, as we as a family will be putting her to rest. We will be having refreshments from 4:00-6:00 pm in the Main Building after the Funeral and Burial. If you are unable to attend in person, the funeral home will be live streaming on their Facebook.
Visitation will be held at Brookside Funeral Home, Grand Oak Chapel, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039, on September 12, 2026, from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm, followed by the Funeral Service at Brookside Funeral Home, Grand Oak Chapel, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039, on September 12, 2026, at 2:30 pm.
Burial Service will take place at Brookside Memorial Park, Burial Will Take Place Immediately After The Funeral Service, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039, on September 12, 2026.
A Reception will be held at Brookside Funeral Home, Grand Patio Reception Hall, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039, on September 12, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
Pallbearers will be David Hill, Eric Powell, Blake Boyd, Brent Boyd, Bobby Mead, and Joe Pena III.
