Barbara Elliot Duncan passed away quietly on Sunday April 22 at home surrounded by family at the young age of 95. Barbara is proceeded in death by her husband, Leonard F. Duncan, her brother Richard C. Johnson, and her grandson Marcus Gordon.
Barbara was born and raised in Plainfield, New Jersey. After graduating from Rutgers University and working at AT&T during World War II, she married Len and began a life of international travel and intrigue with the MW Kellogg Company. Traveling with five children in propeller driven and jet airplanes, she lived in South Africa, Pakistan, Columbia, Iran, Canada, Indonesia, Taiwan, Algeria, and Australia before finally settling in Houston, Texas where she lived for the last 34 years. Her hobbies included bridge, crossword puzzles, reading, music, and travel adventures.
Barbara is survived by her daughters and son, Barbara J. Darroch (Bruce), Leonard H. Duncan (Doris), Beth R. Rider, Kathryn L. Duncan, and Sara M. Gordon (Bill), eight grandchildren; Kelly (Ian), Christine (Robert), Robert (Marissa), Dustin, Sylvia, Elizabeth, Clara, Lennie, and Elle and four greatgrandchildren; Luke, Andrew, Jane, James, and Bruce.
