Barbara Ann Uhazie Peterson, born October 14, 1942 in Connellsville, PA, died on September 30, 2014 at the age of 71, in her home in Houston, Texas. After a long fight with cancer, Barbara passed away surrounded by her mother, sister, four children and two oldest grand-daughters.

Barbara was blessed with a large close-knit family, which included her precious grandchildren: Melanie Hobgood, Stephanie Ann Green, Colton King, Connor King, Erin Buckles, Steven Peterson, Kristen Moore, John Wyatt Kinnebrew, Dylan Kinnebrew, Tiffany Crawford, Kirsten Crawford, and Emily Anne Schoth. Four great grandsons: Jordan Hobgood, Gregory Patrick Dishman, Jackson Hobgood, and Jacob Green added to her joyous family, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Barbara is also survived by her brothers, Roger William Uhazie of Morrell, PA, David Lester Uhazie of Dunbar, PA, Ronald Wayne Uhazie of Baytown, TX and sister, Patricia Uhazie of Houston, TX.
Barbara was loved by many and always made all of her children and grandchildren feel as though they were her favorite. She loved George Strait and the Pittsburgh Steelers, pretzels and Blue Bell’s Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream, ancestry and crocheting as long as her hands would let her. She was a beautiful woman inside and out with the most wonderful heart. She had a strong and forgiving spirit full of love. Even though we have lost an amazing woman, friend, daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother we have gained an angel to walk along with us through our future journeys. We will carry her in our heart when we continue to grow and experience the many blessings in life. May we all still feel her breath on our cheeks, her hand to guide us when we are scared, and her love when we feel lost.
