Barbara Devonne Harrison was born December 8, 1966 in Houston, Texas to Pearline “Sue” Harrison and Micah “Bill” Cooper. She accepted Christ at a young age and was known for her vibrant smile and charisma. She graduated from Wheatley High School (class of 1985). On July 31, 2010, she married her love Michael Phlegm where they began their Christian Journey, at Cathedral of Faith Fellowship Church (The Faith House), where he continued to love her until death did they part.
Barbara had a prophetic anointing on her life. She was an active member of Prayer Time Community Church under the leadership of Pastor Matthew Dever. She loved to worship the Lord in song and as a praise dancer. Her dance ministry touched the hearts and lives of many, as she worshipped God in Spirit and in Truth.
Barbara was very creative and loved taking on new hobbies, one of which was cake decorating. She was family oriented, and her pride and joy was her loving son Jarred, affectionately known as “Duke.”
Barbara worked for Humble Independent School District in the transportation department. She loved interacting with the students and building friendships with her colleagues.
The unforgettable impression that Barbara leaves on our hearts is a constant reminder of God’s love because she was a conduit of it. Her infectious laugh, style, and grace was incomparable. She was an anointed seer and visionary.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers Roy Lee Green, Frank Green, Anthony Green, and Donald Hughes; her sisters Stella Marie Wilson and Beverly Brown; her brother-in-law Roy Smiley, and her nephews Jerome and Kareem Furr.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband Michael Phlegm; her son Jarred Abram; her sisters Betty Smiley, Hallie B. Jefferson, Rachel Cooper, and Gloria Robinson; her brothers Michael Cooper (Laverne) and William “Pop” Cooper; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who loved her and will miss her dearly.
“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.”
– I Corinthians 15:58
