On October 17, 1959, Belia married her beloved husband, Sabino Guerrero. Together, they raised three children, Edward De La Cruz, Perry Guerrero, and Fermin Guerrero. Sabino and Belia are now reunited for eternity.
Belia held a variety of jobs throughout her life, showing her ability adapt and excel in each of them. In Belia’s youth, she was a migrant farm worker, picking cotton as a young adult. After marrying, she began working for Levis as seamstress for many years. It was this skill that she held throughout her life, making dresses and other clothing articles for the family. Following her move to Houston, she worked at Saint Regis Machine Shop making plastic bags for a variety of uses. She later earned her Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) degree. Then worked as an usher at the Astodome where she claimed to have met Joe Montana. She ended her working career at Walmart in the fabric department where she made many friends along the way. She never met a person she didn’t know.
Some of Belia’s favorite pastimes that brought her joy and fulfillment included spending time with her family, gambling, playing Candy Crush and watching her favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys, play football. Belia had an incredible gift of making everyone feel loved with her kindness and compassion. She was a firecracker to the very end, always trying to prove that she was a tough, independent woman.
