

Beneva is the fourth child out of six born to Ben and Eva Miller of Eunice, Louisiana. She was a graduate of St. Edmunds High School, class of 1952 in Eunice, Louisiana. Beneva attended the University of Southwestern Louisiana, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education in 1962. Continuing on with her education, she obtained her Master’s degree in Education in 1968. She began her extraordinary teaching career in 1955 at Eunice Elementary and retired in 1990 at Rummel Creek Elementary in Houston, TX. Her teaching career spanned 35 years, 20 of which were at Rummel Creek, as a First Grade teacher. Beneva was an honored educator, who was awarded Spring Branch Teacher of the Year in 1980. She is a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, the Retired Teachers Association and is listed in the Who’s Who Among American Teachers.
Beneva met and married her loving husband of 58 years, F.J. (Stoche) Langlois of New Roads, Louisiana in 1955. They were blessed with three children, Michael, Mark and Mary Katherine. In 1969, the family relocated from Lafayette to Houston upon Stoche’s promotion with Conoco as Director of Administration.
Beneva touched the hearts of her family and friends with her charismatic personality, dedication to her Catholic Faith, quick wit and ability to make people laugh. She was an avid reader, loved to travel, a big Houston Rockets fan and enjoyed spending time at her Beach House in Galveston for many years. Most of all, she took pride and pleasure in spoiling her children, grandchildren and great grandchild.
Beneva is survived by her three children, Michael, Mark and Mary and her husband, Marc Drummond, all of Houston, TX. She is also survived by three grand children, Justin Langlois and Travis Drummond of Houston, TX and Taylor Langlois of Conyers, GA. Also, one great grandchild, Leland Langlois of Houston, TX.
A visitation will be Thursday, March 13, 2014 from 6-8 PM with a Rosary at 7:00 PM in Memorial Oaks Funeral Home Chapel. Mass celebration the life of Beneva
