In Loving Memory of Benigno Reyna Delgado. With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for a life well lived, we celebrate the life of Benigno Reyna Delgado, who entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior on June 25, 2026, at the age of 91. Benigno was born on February 12, 1935, in Sugar Land, Texas, where his story of faith, hard work, and unconditional love first began.
In 1958, Benigno married the love of his life, Lucy Delgado. Together they built a beautiful life rooted in faith, devotion, and family. Their marriage was a testament to enduring love, unwavering commitment, and God's grace. Although Lucy has gone before him, there is comfort in knowing they are reunited once again in eternal peace.
Benigno spent many years working as a painting contractor, taking great pride in providing for his family through honest, dedicated work. But his greatest calling extended far beyond his profession. For more than 20 years, he faithfully served in prison outreach ministry, carrying God's message of hope, forgiveness, and salvation to those who needed it most. He believed that no one was beyond God's love and dedicated countless hours to sharing the Gospel with compassion and humility. His faith was not simply something he spoke about—it was something he lived every single day.
He found happiness in life's simple pleasures. Whether he was painting race cars, cheering on his favorite football team, or surrounded by those he loved most, Benigno treasured every moment. Nothing brought him greater joy than gathering with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. His home was filled with laughter, wisdom, stories, and prayers, creating memories that his family will carry with them forever. To know Benigno was to know a man of remarkable strength, quiet generosity, and unwavering faith. He led by example, teaching his family the importance of loving one another, trusting in God through every season of life, and never losing hope. His gentle spirit, comforting words, and servant's heart touched countless lives, leaving behind a legacy that cannot be measured.
He was welcomed into Heaven by his beloved wife, Lucy Delgado; his parents, Jesus and Fidencia Delgado; his cherished daughter, Rosemary Delgado; and his son, Joe Garza; his sisters Mary Bermea, Lupe Morua, Matilda Rodriguez and Gloria Vazquez.. While their reunion is surely one of great joy, those left behind deeply feel the absence of his loving presence.
Benigno is lovingly survived by his daughters, Linda Guerrero (Richard), Connie Cortazar (Robert), Carmen Martinez (Ruben), Ramona Saenz (Noe), and Lucy Delgado. He also leaves behind 14 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immense pride, happiness, and purpose to his life. He is also survived by his beloved siblings, Josie Yepez, Jesse Delgado, and Henry Delgado, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives were forever enriched by knowing him. Although our hearts ache with his passing, we find peace in knowing that Benigno's race has been completed, his faith has remained steadfast, and he now rests in the eternal embrace of the Lord he faithfully served throughout his life. His love, kindness, wisdom, and unwavering devotion to God and family will continue to shine through every life he touched.
His legacy is not only found in the generations that follow him but in every soul he encouraged, every heart he comforted, and every life he led closer to Christ. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten until the day we meet again.
