Bennie Rodriguez Jr., 74, son of Bennie and Martha Rodriguez, was born on July 19, 1946 in Houston, Texas. He was called by our Heavenly Father to receive his gift of eternal salvation on January 6, 2021. On Valentine’s Day 1967, he married his forever love Cecilia. They raised two beautiful daughters Vivian and Veronica. Bennie was a great father figure, not only to his two daughters, but to many others who looked up to him respectfully. He believed in working hard. He was a dedicated retiree of Harris County Precinct One - Parks and Recreation for 19 years.

Bennie, from a very young age, always had a passion for every genre of music. He was a homebody that you would find sitting on the front porch listening to music. He had a love for his family and a passion for barbecuing. Bennie loved for everyone to stop by for a visit and have a social drink. His positive energy, charisma, and ability to make everyone in the room laugh, ensured that he had many friends and made him an absolute joy to be around. Bennie will be dearly missed by all his family and friends.

Bennie was preceded in death by his parents, sister Virginia and brother Arthur. He is survived by his wife Cecilia and his children Vivian (Robert) Mendoza, Veronica (Mario) Salazar; Grandchildren Selena (Rey), Victoria, Vanessa (Tim) and Nicholas; Great grandchildren Robert-Anthony, Naylah and Izel; Siblings Teresa (Genaro), Carmen (Ramon), Lydia (Clarence), Adam (Dolores) and Little Brother Danny (Monica) and numerous family and friends.

Mr. Benny lived across from my family since before I was born! He watched my mom grow up and watched my brother and I grow. He was a great neighbor and a wonderful friend. He will definitely be missed. We send our love and condolences to the family.

There are not enough words to express how saddened we are for you and your family. My cousin was such a delight and loving person. He was the life of the party and loved to dance and barbecue. Our condolences from my husband Augustine and my sons and families to you and your families. He will always be in our hearts and your family in our prayers. He will be missed.♥️

Gracias Benny . Nos veremos en el cielo.

I still can’t believe that he’s gone.
Bennie (Popo) was always such a character. He would always ask me if I was ready to go to the casino. He was loved by so many. If you didn’t really know him, he would always make you feel welcome.
He was such a sweet man. Popo was the best cook, and he would always make sure you had enough to eat. I’m really going to miss him and his sense of humor so much. A great loss to so many family and friends. Rest In Peace Popo. 😢

Tia Cece and Cousins,
My heart goes out to you in your time of sorrow. I was deeply saddened receiving the news on the loss of "My Twin"; not only did we share the same birthday, but lots of laughs and family memories. I will miss those "Bennie Burgers", your music collection and my dad will miss those talks.

Our Love goes out to you.

It is with great sorrow I write this but I am proud to have served as The Rodriguez Family's Mailman. I always looked forward to stopping by and talking to Benny giving him his mail and weekly specials. Benny was always in his comand control chair watching Law and Order or chilling on the front porch jamming to some Old School Tejano. He was always very welcoming and a pleasure to talk to. I am very happy to have known him and have him in my life. I didn't get to see Benny during these last months to tell him bye but I want him to know that he will be greatly missed. Although we all are in pain now, Rodriguez Family take comfort in the fact that we will see him again one day. He just got a headstart on us. See you later Benny. May you Rest In Peace.

Though we did not have the honor of meeting Mr. Rodriguez, I, (Lisa), went to school with Veronica, who loves her parents very much. Our prayers are with you all during this difficult time. May God be with you and may Mr. Rodriguez rest in peace.
